Ozzy rocks Ozzfest despite doctors' warning
http://www.virtualfestivals.com/latest/news/8622/-/-Ozzy-rocks-Ozzfest-despite-doctors-warning/Despite suffering from a back injury (resulting in the cancellation his previous show in Germany), the Prince of Darkness ignored doctors' advice to pull off a blistering set the UK leg of Ozzfest at London's O2 Arena on Saturday (18 September).
The 20,000 capacity one-day event marked the first time the indoor venue complex had been used to house a multi-stage rock festival. With the central arena hosting the main acts, a festival area had been set-up around the inner edge of the building, consisting of funfair rides, market stalls, bars and a second stage.
Around 9pm, the house-lights dimmed for the final time in the day as images of the legendary man of rock were super-imposed onto clips of iconic contemporary films, movies and music videos ranging from Iron Man to Lady GaGa.
An impressive burst of pyrotechnics then hailed the singers arrival on-stage as he proceeded to defy not only his doctors, but also his age and the expectations of many in attendance, by pulling off a blistering, energy performance that saw him leaping all over the stage like a man a third of his years - never mind one with a bad back.
The epic two-hour set that followed spanned Ozzy's entire career, including his solo highlights right up to present day album ‘Scream’ and, of course, a crowd-pleasing smattering of Sabbath classics. Fans were also treated to a surprisingly enjoyable old-school drum solo and a dazzling display of fretwork from guitar whizzkid Gus G.
Ozzy Osborne's full set-list was:
Bark At The Moon
Let Me Hear You Scream
Mr Crowley
I Dont Know
Fairies Wear Boots
Suicide Solution
War Pigs
Road To Nowhere
Shot In The Dark
Iron Man
Killer Of Giants
Into The Void

The rest of the day's highlights included a spectacular British return by Korn, featuring the UK debut of tracks from their ninth studio album ‘Korn III: Remember Who You Are' as well as memorable appearances from Murderdolls, Steel Panther and Black Spiders.
